Smoothe Da Hustler talks about his biological brother, Trigger The Gambler, and their long-time neighborhood friend, General D.V. The two brothers were visited regularly by dozens of people, so when D.V. stopped by, he had to earn their trust like the rest. D.V. was so dedicated to rap with Smoothe and Trigger, that he would find them in any given borough at a community center performance. Eventually his persistence paid off and D.V. landed on Smoothe’s first single, “Hustlin'”. Trigger makes a note to clear the air that he and D.V. left Priority Records because they were not interested in the politics of the music business or changing their sound.
