J. Rawls re-releases “The Essence Of” after 15 years | Interview

In 2001, producer J. Rawls released his debut album The Essence Of… He later became known from producing songs for Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Beastie Boys, Casual, Aloe Blacc, and many others. 15 years later, Rawls re-released his classic album on vinyl only with previously unreleased songs. The album’s re-issue includes features from J-Live, Talib Kweli, Dose One, Wordsworth, Makeba Mooncycle, J. Sands, Grap Luva, Mass Influence, Apani B Fly, Mr.Complex, Unspoken Heard, Rubix, Capital D, and legendary Columbus group S.P.I.R.I.T. The exclusive vinyl has sold out, but you can follow J.
