Joell Ortiz describes working with Token on “Kill At Will” | Interview

While chatting with Joell Ortiz on Rap Is Outta Control, a fan called in to ask Joell about the song “Kill At Will” with Token, on the album That’s Hip Hop. Joell comments on meeting the 17-year old rapper from Salem, MA through producer Domingo after brainstorming for artists to work with on certain songs. Joell said “I wanted a young spitter on the ‘Kill At Will’ joint… there’s a (Big Daddy) Kane sample in chorus, so it had to be someone who could hold up their end with bars.” Joell was very pleased with how the song turned out, and he mentioned being proud to co-sign a young artist, since he did not have the same opportunities himself.
